The Shalva Band is the product of one of Shalva’s most celebrated inclusion programs. The band performs, by special invitation, at cultural venues and dignitary events, inspiring crowds with their musical repertoire and charm. The band is comprised of young adults who have graduated or are currently participating in Shalva’s After School Activity Center. Some of the band members’ musical talents were discovered and developed through Shalva’s music therapy programs. What began as an outlet for talented Shalva program participants has developed into a model embodying Shalva’s inspirational message of inclusion, acceptance and hope.
Shalva, The Israel Association for the Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, is dedicated to providing transformative care for individuals with disabilities and their families. Non-denominational and free of charge, their programs provide services for thousands of individuals from infancy to adulthood. Shalva supports and enables families to raise their children within the family framework. Shalva’s advocacy initiatives, community events, and disability research inspire a more inclusive society.
The Shalva National Center's extraordinary programs and facilities create new frontiers in disability rehabilitation, research and inclusion.
